Damn, is Lemmy really so quaint that these questions aren’t better served on more specialized communities?
I don’t miss (in fact I blocked the sub) askreddit with every question being would you rather sex your sex like this or sex your sex like that? But seems like a lot of super specific questions popping up here that could help build existing communities.
Try this in /c/phones or /c/technology perhaps?
You should try Lemmy bruh. Since you already installed it, write a one star playstore review then delete and never look back.
Careful, known crotch grabber.
The dude was kinda built though.
Stalin would kick my ass.
Think I’d try wrestling with Kaufman.
Wanna maybe back that up a little bit? Sounds a bit like fear mongering to me.
I like big butts and I cannot lie
The inventor of the graham cracker?
It’s the lord’s work
It depends on your stage of life, financial situation, priorities, politics, etc. CA does have more laws than most places. Whether any of those really affect you is up to you to determine. Recommend looking at the CA constitution and frankly just seeing what comes up. Pertinent laws will tend to find you. If you really want talk to others that live nearby you as they likely represent your demographic and may be aware of things likely to impact you.
Yeah, this bribe culture just needs to be made illegal. Tipping is well established (and really shitty practice), but this bribe thing is growing fast and is a total cancer. It doesn’t even have the guise of being an incentive, it’s just a threat.
Yeah, will be great when we move past gun culture too, but neither of those things will happen in the next two generations. These kinds of things are actively getting worse not better and are so deeply rooted there is no way we are just going to “move past them”
That world view requires one to have a back story on every purchase they make and is placing value on a story rather than a direct experience. Nothing wrong with that for you, but that’s not a generalizable practice. Ultimately people are more likely to use the app, compare it to many other apps, and decide whether paying 3-4 more times what most apps charge for ad freedom is worth it to them. In my opinion the current pricing is preying upon zealots early on and market forces will likely drive it down over time. In the meantime it’s enough of a sticker-shock to leave a bad taste in many mouths.
Do you guys remember that time u/Spez took the reddit API away from third party apps?
What about the devs that offer that exact same feature in all the Lemmy apps without ads? You want to support someone doing good work? Try throwing those guys $20 as a donation to their app. Who will appreciate that more? Them or the guy that already has one of the most successful ad-based Reddit apps?
It just stands out as an unusual amount to pay for ad removal compared to what other apps with ads typically charge. When there are so many great Lemmy apps out now that don’t have ads, why choose Sync (unless I guess $20 is in the trivial range for you I suppose)
But I think it is as that is often what the price for ad removal is in apps. This stands out as extreme. I pay for ad removal in the vast majority of apps that offer the option.
Can you make a recommendation for a tool to migrate “subscriptions etc.”? I’m using Connect if that makes a difference.
Also, Lemmy.world has been very unreliable lately anyway. Does Lemmy.ee have a good reliability record?
