I run Pop!_OS on an Early 2015 MBP 13. It’s pretty much flawless. The only thing that doesn’t work is the webcam, which is a bonus for my ugly mug.

Even Valve can’t help but tell everyone that they run Arch.
Black people on the 1920’s had to deal with “the klan” as sporadic and fairly localized pockets of violent racists that wanted them to “know their place”. Trans people have to deal with a nationwide, organized, and enabled group of people that want them to not exist, as well as a significant number of politicians who are legislating to ensure they do indeed cease to exist. Also, anyone that thinks that trans people do not and have not dealt with violence is a dip shit.
NO API NEEDED
I used the “Spaz’s Reddit Delete” browser script through Greasemonkey to sanitize my account. No API needed. Now, if any of my comments or posts are a result of a Google search (I posted a lot on tech support type subs), they will lead to a dead link or to a [deleted].
PS: Deleting your account leaves your posts and comments behind, which in turn provide value to Reddit.
I, for one, am looking forward to the day chatbots can perfectly simulate people and have persistent memory. I’m not ok being an elderly man who’s friends have all died and doesn’t have anyone to talk to. If a chatbot can be my friend and spare me a slow death through endless depressing isolation, then I’m all for it.

I would avoid Ubuntu and Fedora because of their corporate shenanigans. I’ve had a very painless experience with Pop!_OS as my daily driver and there’s a version that comes with Nvidia support already baked in. Otherwise, I would recommend Mint D which is the version that ditched Ubuntu for pure Debían (what Ubuntu is a fork of).
