Earthquakes
This would likely mean my country’s (Australia) biggest trading partner going to war with our biggest ally (USA). We’re also close to this conflict geographically speaking so would likely play a key role in it. Honestly this conflict would really fuck our economy and make the entire region more unstable than it already is.
So I’d be quite concerned if this happened. It would destroy my country and be yet another reminder of how we are tied to the USA and will literally follow it to our own destruction.
I don’t dislike people. They just confuse and overwhelm me and this is incredibly exhausting.
This is my conservative father in a nutshell
I’ve always felt like conservative people are more likely the type of people who walk their dogs off leash. Don’t tread on me extends to their pets
My PhD thesis
Methane would be more effective than C02. Methane is the elephant in the room no one talks about
Hate to be a killjoy but C02 is only one greenhouse gas and not even the worst one.
A ubi funded by a hefty carbon tax on big polluters.
Appointment inertia is the worst. I can’t do more than one appointment in a day. It’s not like a cute lil ‘oh it’s so hard’ thing, I literally cannot do the cognitive processing required to do more than one appointment a day.
Look they both don’t fall far from the shit tree, but the political philosophy nerd in me still does think there’s some key points of difference. And these points of difference are useful in recognising and responding to fascist ideology because it’s inherently parasitic and spreads by latching itself onto other ideas. That’s why you can have things like eco-fascism and atheist fascism, which don’t traditionally align with conservatism. Umberto Eco actually outlines the specifics of fascism and how it’s a uniquely shitty ideology that can work it’s way into any dark corner of complex human societies.
Yeah but he didn’t incite an insurrection like Trump did.
Covid killed a lot of people - millions of them. It’s not a war, but Trump’s management of covid resulted in a lot of unnecessary deaths.
Not an American but Trump was far more embarrassing to your international reputation than Bush. They’re both 2 of the worst presidents you’ve ever had but Trump is a whole different level of shitty. He’s like fascist shitty, whereas Bush was neo-con shitty.
Red dead redemption 2 for sure. It’s hard to pick because there are a lot of profound experiences in that game. The part where Arthur is riding back after Guarma when d’angelo starts playing definitely stands out. It just made me think about how some people just get trapped in these shitty situations that are just tragic. It’s easy to say what you would / wouldn’t do in that situation but the gang were Arthur’s family and it’s not that easy to just walk away from the only community you have and the only life you’ve ever known.
I’m not even from the US and honestly it was a sobering moment for me as well. I realised how people like Hitler get into power. Before 2016 I knew it was possible like cognitively but Trump being elected made it feel real in a way it never had before.
We need to develop better ethical frameworks and regulation. Doesn’t matter what the tech is, it’s about how it’s used and for what aims.
Nah I see WA as Texas and QLD as Florida.
I have a bachelors in psychology so was able to pick based on my understanding of approaches. I knew I didn’t want CBT, so went with an ACT psych instead. Mine is also a developmental psychologist so I knew they’d be more likely to understand neurodevelopmental disabilities than your average psychologist.
