I dunno, there some necessary context here. I think Requiem for a Dream is a better movie then Iron Man, but I sure as hell wouldn’t pick it as the only movie I’m ever going to watch again.

Well I get that framerate with everything maxed at 3440x1440. I have turned things down to get a higher framerate, but it shouldn’t be struggling. I don’t have anything else running other than the usual programs that stay open.

This game is not pretty enough to push my 3080 ti as hard as it does. I get around 40fps at max settings.

I definitely agree that they do stupid things because of short term gains and narcissism. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they’re just grumpy bosses mad that it’s harder to boss people around.

I also worry though about portraying executives as buffoons. Most of their short term decisions that look stupid make a lot of sense when you look at it through the lense of them just not caring that it makes life worse for other people. It’s honestly probably a combination of a bunch of dumb and greedy things.

Sure, but if everyone who can goes remote, all that rent money dries up. Most also don’t directly own buildings to rent, but rather have investments in companies that do. If those other companies go under then they lose money on investments. I don’t have any inside knowledge though, this is just the conclusion I’ve been able to come to. Other than just being control freaks.

I don’t think there’s some shadowy Illuminati organisation behind it. They are pretty blatent when they manipulate things.

That said, I do think there are a lot of investors and analysts that have come to the same conclusion and are talking to each other and passing info to their clients.

A lot of large companies and executives have investments in real estate. If everyone stopped using offices all of a sudden, they would lost a bunch of money because the space wouldn’t be in demand anymore.

The only sites I can think of that don’t look like they use css are motherfuckingwebsite.com and bjarne stroustrup’s website.

Any site that uses JS for more than trivial things is going to be a disaster without styling of some kind.

This makes absolutely no sense. Front ends that include JavaScript still use css.

Now this is interesting. It seems to imply DeSantis doesn’t think democracy is the important factor and it doesn’t matter how you get there, just that you’re the one to be sworn in. It’s a very “might makes right” kind of statement.

I could be reading to much into an off the cuff comment, but his entire job is making accurate comments. We also keep passing off the ridiculous sounding comments conservatives make, and then they come back later and prove that they were serious.

We never called if statements AI until the last year or so. It’s all marketing buzz words. It has to be more than just “it makes a decision” to be AI, or else rivers would be AI because they “make a decision” on which path to take to the ocean based on which dirt is in the way.

There’s a difference between “this is AI that could be better!” and “this could one day turn into AI.”

Everyone is calling their algorithms AI because it’s a buzzword that trends well.
