Yeah totally agree. I can give it credit for being adapted for better accommodating flutter, but it has extremely many things where it does not come across as modern

Flutter uses dart. It’s one of the best ui building frameworks I have used. Not that it is perfect…

As far as I understand it the Frontline is pretty saturated with drones. Heard it in a documentary that I cannot find, of course, but a quick search gave this article https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/04/14/ukraine-drones-russia-war-skies/:
The sheer number of drones means the battlefield is “almost transparent on both sides,” Nepal said, speaking from a makeshift base near the front line filled with parts for FPVs.
So yes seems to me as if it is a almost 24/7 thing. Maybe not over 100% of the Frontline, but at least in the most of it.
(I may have overestimated the meaning of hinterland… I meant like the 10km or so behind the front)
Drones have extreme effect on the Ukrainian battle field as there is no secrecy anymore. Every inch of the front and the hinterland is permanently watched by both sides via drones. But yeah you are right the actual advancement is still made on the ground

I think “prompt engineer” is the best job title on multiple levels
And the first was by far the best

Fuck that. It’s awesome! I want to have lazy initialized globals. It’s that package. I want code to shorten my builder pattern I import that. I need a typed concurrent work steel queue. No problem.
I look at a c project. Everywhere custom macros to do the most basic shit. I want to parse an xml in c? Better use a sax Parser and put all the data into globals. Cryptography? Better implement that ourselves… Using a library would be too much of a hassle.
I like und use “main” because it’s shorter, but call it master branch in colloquial speech because it’s cooler.
Isn’t Linux more like a benevolent dictatorship. At least the kernel development.
Don’t know what people have? The last time wifi didnt work out of the box for me was like 2010
Same here. Always wanted to do cool games. But wanted to have an even cooler scripting language for the game. At some point programming languages became more interesting. Now working in ide development :D never finished a game
Actually the language is quite small. The features, it has, are just quite powerful and have huge synergies so that it seems that you have a lot of complex features. It has a lot of weird corner case stuff, but most of that is because of the jvm and other languages have that too unfortunately.
And then in the end we realize the most important thing was the tests we wrote along the way.
Well the first chapter is very good and reading it will explain why this book is so influential. It’s also not very long. You can do it 💪
I think no one has read Manufacturing Consent beyond the first chapter.
