  • And Israeli bots (probably IDF and Pro-Israelis too)

Seriously I just discovered this. Go search any random Gaza/Palestine/Israel post you will see -50 for someone saying “Israel has killed children and should stop killing children” and like +300 for “this article is so biased it’s taking about Israeli attacks but no mention of how Hamas is the real cause of this death”.

I’m not even going to bother to link because I want people to see for themselves rather than it looking like I’m selecting the worst if it.

This just seems women are more touchy about this stuff then men.

Someone called me out on reddit for using the word girls for women and it was sexist because it is infantising, and it was stupid because they were making out I don’t call men boys. When I absoultely do, in fact I do it more than the alternative. Really the only way I was sexist on that is that I don’t do it as much as I do with men so if anything I should do it more.

But you can’t win, someone’s always going to be offended

Started eating a shit tonne of rice.

Losing weight really isn’t that hard. It’s calories in verses calories out. If that doesn’t work, congratulations you are breaking the laws of thermodynamics and physics is changed forever.

I just took out some higher calorie food and ate a lot more chicken and rice and the weight dropped off kinda scary fast seeing as I was eating 4 meals a day. Ended up adding extra calories with eggs and was more comfortable with sauces.

Another time I took up surfing. Fucking hell surfing is hard, running 10 miles is easier. Increased my food load and ate a crap load more protein and just changed shape in a few months, lost the fat around my tummy and my shoulders grew huge.

  • Not always. Consumers given choice they should go for the product that is best. That way companies have to make the best product. That’s competition working.

Like when ps3 offered free online but xbox didn’t. That killed the xbox market as everyone could choose a similar product that was cheaper.

Or when apple forced everyone to use their products people went to the Samsung because you could do what you want. That killed apple.

Or when some companies offered subscription model like Microsoft Office, everyone went to alternatives and that killed Microsoft Office.

Honestly I blame people. We had all the information and just laughed in the face of reason. We are choosing to spend more for a shittier product.

  • I honestly don’t get why people use apple. People have explained it to me and I think I just don’t get the reasoning.

People would tell me on the age of illegally downloaded or someone legally bought mp3s apple was better because you can’t play your mp3s you have to buy them again off apple. Or that apple is better because you can’t use something and instead have to use apples device which isn’t as good and more expensive but it’s white! Like I can’t get a fucking white one.

The walled garden is shit. Apple makes me angry.

  • I think society is doomed.

It’s too connected and secure. No pockets of diversity can form instead everything is going to merge into one large mass. Then within the large groups the successful and determined aren’t rewarded enough as they are just apart of that mass.

Idiocracy is right. Idiots with no jobs will have loads of kids.

We need people to care about themselves and society again rather just caring about feelings. People don’t even care about their country and countrymen and willing to drop it at the first hint of something better.

  • If I was spez that’s not what would concern me.

Previously Reddit was the be all and end all. Sure there was alternatives for subreddits like car forums or star trek but a generic Reddit alternative no. The goal was then to increase users from something like Facebook, increase the time on the website and maximum revenue. Maybe alternatives were tried and they failed. It was almost impossible to reach that critical mass and the websites died.

This time feels different. The number of users Reddit lost is meaningless. But the number of users the alternative gained is significantly.

If lemmy keeps growing to become an actual competitor to Reddit that changes the game entirely.

The question isn’t how many users did Reddit lose it is did lemmy hit that equilibrium point to keep organic grown. It’s like an exponential. If lemmy wins the way Facebook beat MySpace is not about going from half the users to 100%. It’s about going from <1% to 5% or even from 0.1% to 1% whatever that mass is. Getting from 1 to 100,000 will take longer than 100,000 to 1,000,000,000
