Telco. Back then I was internal investigation. 25k employees. Bound to have some bad apples unfortunately. Honestly not weirder than elsewhere.
So do I but with exception of the unfortunate cp that calls for bleaching eyes (and security) one is more sanitary than the other…
I can relate to the guy that had to put that number in. Prolly went along the lines of « can we get some budget to identify our various processing activities and what processors are involved ? »… to what management said « lol no just put the overall numbers in ». And the guy included the kitchen company in there because fuck it.
It seems a lot of humans still require it though, that’s the whole problem imho. If everyone was on the same page it would have disappeared or be no more than folklore same for the rest of legends and such like.
But a lot of humans still have a long way to go and waaaayyyy too many are preying on them while too little of us are steering towards betterment…
Haaaa yeah the kindle. Both loved and hated in my case. Love the form factor, allowing me to indulge in new books. Hate it because I don’t get new physical books anymore. Not that I have any room left for books; that’s the reason I bought the kindle in the first place…
Let’s assume that the dude requested for a deletion of his account (specifically - not all his data) of the basis of gdpr and the execution of his data subject rights; that doesn’t exclude the possibility for reddit to keep his contact details for specific purposes based on the legitimate interest of reddit. Or at least they could play with the argument.
As long as no sourcerer drops by :)
The point is, this shouldn’t be served to ANY demographic… it’s clearly a person doing their job - not someone to run through an undressing app…
Yeah definitely a good idea. Routing your mobile traffic through it so your carrier cannot access your traffic and the services you don’t want to share location with can’t snoop as much on you.
I’d say it’s about designing a good strategy. I have local backups on my NAS and a nightly incremental backup to cloud locations from there. That way the capture from my local equipment to the NAS is lightning fast and it’s not a big deal to have it take a few hours to reach the cloud. Also having a NAS on a power backup is a must-have.
True, it’s not at all stage where it’s likely to be a problem. The army of very old persons isn’t at the door just yet ;-)
Same for me. I started to chit chat a bit here and there just to have some more activity but I miss a community I like to be part of.
True. Related to that I wish there were more engagement on lemmy. Most of the posts in my stream have zero replies or 1 and it’s the bot. But let’s keep smaller numbers - quality over quantity.
Meh. Not like there are shareholders to appraise of growth…
For niche content creators that aren’t in the million of subs what they get isn’t even subsistence money… hence their merchs. Those are not ads inserted in the video stream but screen space below the video… easily ignored especially compared to actual ads.
It’s less ads and more your youtuber’s shop… you pay YouTube premium to get rid of their ads but you don’t pay your content creator… maybe if there was a subscription patreon-like it would be equivalent.
That’s a bit of an extreme take on the topic… not wanting ads from the broadcaster is one thing, not wanting to be separately presented with the promotional items of the youtuber himself is something else. I like seeing what the guys I follow are putting out. Maybe a 2nd option in ads content would be appropriate for you but don’t throw everyone in the same bag…
My personal favourite remains perl for anything text oriented or for simple-ish orchestration.
Truely a nice one. The community around it is quite cool as well.
