I am bisexual and somewhat poly. With some of my friends I have a more publicly physical/intimate relationship. We may hold hands, hug, or kiss. In private, we cuddle and… do other things as well. I imagine the straights of Lemmy will largely tell you they don’t cuddle their male friends while the queer folk will give a different answer.
Tori Amos’s Silent All These Years. That mercurial little piano riff. The painful lyrics. The liberation of the middle eight. It’s a perfect song.
“Filmed on a canoe” is how I put it.
The sequel was worse: a hackneyed “elements” magic system and a plot that would only work on a much longer time scale. Too much stuff crammed into too little movie.
I get it. I love the slow pace, the beautiful cinematography, the careful dialog. But it’s not for everyone.
Primarily use my desktop (nothing beats a proper desk setup for Getting Shit Done) for work and gaming. I have a laptop that I use less frequently, but it’s an acceptable way to take work with me if I have to. It won’t play any games more graphically intense than Slay the Spire, but that’s not the point. I use my phone for Serious Business only when absolutely necessary. Anything short of a proper desktop setup feels like a crippled user experience, and phones are the most crippled experience of them all.
I did this swap recently as well, on Fedora. I had to do literally nothing, as the drivers were already available and installed. I uninstalled akmod-nvidia to tidy up, but I suppose even that wasn’t strictly required.
I think the connotation is that a Muppet is controlled by someone else. Their every thought, word, and action is the intent of their handlers.
There was an attempt by Twitter at one point to use “420 Enhance Your Calm” as a code to indicate you’re being rate limited.
You mean Eeeeyyiiidiot Wind? Yeah, love that track.
Gnome is a desktop environment, which you can install into virtually any distro. It’s the default for Fedora, which is a good enough place to try Linux for the first time.
If your options are “do as I say” or “suffer for all eternity” you aren’t really capable of exercising free will.
Agreed. This UI is very much inherited from ancient word processing applications. The shift that Microsoft made in the Vista era to the tabbed menu buttons only added extra mouse clicks to get to the same set of functions. Word and LibreOffice both allow you to do the kind of thing you’re talking about, but those features are nestled way down into menus and trays that are ugly and hard to use and promote the use of the wrong tool since the wrong tool is made more accessible.
Good advice. I’ll add that any time you have to parse command line arguments with any real complexity you should probably be using Python or something. I’ve seen bash scripts where 200+ lines are dedicated to just reading parameters. It’s too much effort and too error prone.
Having lived in Texas for something like 29 years, I must respectfully disagree. Unless you have a Five Guys around, Whataburger is about as good as fast food gets.
They have a Whataburger there, so there’s that.
The largest I’ve passed was about 4mm. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever felt, and it took weeks to work its way through, even with the Flomax. Crying, moaning, writhing on the bed in pain, pissing blood. Malicious looking little thing. Looked like the ball on the end of a morning star. I passed two of those at once one time.
Krull (1983) is an all time favorite of mine. It’s the most D&D plot you’ve ever seen coupled with beautiful cinematography and a great score by James Horner.
