I know what I’ll be doing April 1st 🤣
I know what I’ll be doing April 1st 🤣
sounds less to do with the country and more to do with the work culture of your team to me. I wish we were all this lucky lol
agreed, life is tough, but remember: we didn’t start the fire!
as a 5’7 person, I can’t control my height. Therefore, it isn’t something that I should feel bad about. it’s the same way I feel about the color of my skin or any other physical or mental things I have going on that are 100% out of my control. it’s a difficult way to address my shortcomings (pun intended), but once you start just accepting these are things that cant be control, you start feeling better about yourself. I’ve cut out a lot of people in my life that made me feel bad about uncontrollable things, and it’s made me a much better person. I’m still on that journey to improve every day, too; it’ll never stop
I think the trap many people fall into is getting caught up and comparing themselves to other people. I can’t imagine if I woke up every day and compared myself to some of the wealthiest people in the world… I’d get depressed so fast!
as for the term short king, that’s absolutely hilarious to me, I approve of its use lol.
I think that part of it is how, to me at least, the term “fat” is so generic and hard to nail down to a discrete definition, implying that the word really doesn’t have a clear connection to reality.
well, there’s a clear definition as to what is considered to be overweight, and if someone fits that category, it’s up to them to decide how they take it. it’s a lifestyle choice for that person, in my opinion, and I know plenty of people that are happy with their larger size and others that would like to bring their weight down. but comparison will always make someone feel bad about themselves if they dont take the comparison as constructive criticism.
guess I’ll be skipping this until they fix it
they do. I know that the ps5 versions of call of duty have gyro aiming as a feature you can toggle on
iCUE would stop my webpages from loading for the longest time, and i had no idea why. I tried so many other things and never even considered iCUE to be the culprit of my extremely slow web surfing.
it wasn’t until a friend suggested I delete iCUE that my computer began running like brand new… it was literally a night and day experience. there’s no point to my story, other than echoing how horrible iCUE is
I feel like I had the same feelings surrounding work after graduating college. I got out of it by thinking, “What would a confident person do in this situation?”
eventually, my confidence rose a lot and I stopped thinking like this because I became a person with a lot of confidence.
also, don’t go so hard on yourself. if youre doing a good job and your superiors are letting you know the work you are doing is great, there is no need to stress. is there something in particular about your job that makes you feel like you’re not putting in enough effort?
thanks for this! I’ve always wanted to get started on my own self hosting solution
good luck 👍
if reddit has a specific use for you that you’re unable to find anywhere else, you should utilize reddit and not feel bad about it.
maybe one day, lemmy will be a proper alternative for people in your position, but there’s no use trying to stay away from reddit if you’re unable to do your job effectively without it. good luck.
i would say no, as there can be programming you can begin that doesn’t involve math. what I would recommend is to begin your own project by looking to see what you can automate in your life.
when I was in middle school, I told a teacher I wanted to program when I got older, and she scared me because she said that involves a lot of math. at the time, I hated math, so I avoided programming completely. it wasn’t until I was 24 that I gave it a shot and was so upset at how misinformed I was. I wish I could turn back time, but oh well.
is there something you do at your current job that you think can be automated?
this is exactly how I started. I looked at my job to see what I can do to solve an issue we were having using python and, even though my final script was a complete mess, it worked. learned SO much along the way
I think this is something you’re gonna have to just jump into and start since you don’t have anything to work off of. it’s going to take a lot of work, but at least you’ll be able to work off your own ATFs once you finish. good luck…
would grouping all of this together and calling it sync for fediverse (im not crazy about the name tbh) work better? I’d like to have everything in one app since they all use the same protocol to talk to each other.
if you’ve never had a fold device, i’d say the 5 is a great place to jump in. idk what i was expecting, but I wasnt completely blown away like when I got my fold 2.
everything about the 5 has been a ton of minor improvements over my fold 2 though, so I’ll be keeping it
just got the fold 5, upgrading from the fold 2. i’m not really impressed with it and wished i kept my fold 2 for another generation, but time will tell if the durability is better on this one (main reason I upgraded from my fold 2). the fold 2 was solid for me though, so I’m sure down the line I will be happy with improvements to the fold phones when its time to upgrade again.
I think next time, I’ll be seriously consider any of the flip phones. only thing holding me back would be a 120 hz cover screen for the flip, but im sure it will be around when it’s time for me to upgrade from the fold 5 in about 3-4 years.
sync is awesome. im very happy to sign up for the yearly fee as it’s easily the most used app on my phone
I’m not a fan of subscriptions either but come on, it’s 17 dollars a year.
was hype, but no encryption between android and iOS makes me weary. good start though!
edit: after reading the article:
Google added today that it’s “working with the broader ecosystem to bring cross-platform E2EE to RCS chats as soon as possible.” The Google Messages app on Android today offers its own E2E encryption for RCS 1:1 and group conversations that does not extend to iPhone chats.
OK, baby steps!
