  • My parents both openly smoked weed in front of my from a young age. I was told that as long as I was home by curfew and didn’t come home in a cop car they were fine with me doing basically whatever cuz they knew I wasn’t a complete moron (my dad worked in the school system and knew all the ACTUAL problem children really well, they hated me because of that so I never got to be a hoodlum lol), though my nugs WERE taken from me at 15 because “you were dumb enough to let us catch you with it” which is fair but I say they were out and bumming off of me without saying so lol

As for sex I got a quick talk about using a condom after my dad caught my GF and I doing it, but otherwise it was left mostly unsaid cuz my sex Ed wasnt trash

  • When I worked at subway… Fuck me 10 years ago this month…

We pulled them nipples and the inserts off every night and rinsed them in hot water, then left em overnight in sanitizer solution, and I (being 6’4") had to clean the ice holder every 2 weeks to a month, never got told bad in there thanks to that

There was a picture our boss would show you of what happens when you don’t that convinced everybody to clean it religiously. We got free drinks from the machine, after all, we’d only be killing ourselves faster with that shit being dirty

  • I recall reading somewhere that less than 5 years is the average time it takes for most individual works to earn the majority of its value, tapering off from there

    So I’d probably do a 2-tier system:

Tier 1: independent civilians. After 5 years any normal civvie can take your work and use it without your permission to do whatever they want with it

Tier 2: Companies. Life of the author. For as long as the original creator is alive no company can ever use their work without permission

  • couldn’t do much without being the slog A Realm Reborn was.

I agree with everything else you said, but not this. I’ve seen multiple people write out different mild rewrites of areas and bits of the story to make it more interesting, and it wouldn’t have been much more work to flesh out the MSQ into more than just “go here talk to person” to the extreme it was. It didn’t have to be a slog

Hell, had they just picked between the two completely different stories in this expansion (hi Stormblood critique from 2017) and kept with that for the whole epac they could have produced something far less of a slog at least, and actually really GREAT at best (just look at the content design after all)

Shit my queue just popped I’m off to fight THE BEST BEE GIRL EVERRRRR

  • Yes, after the rep had personally been trying to play dumb for almost 30 minutes. As a CSR myself I know it shouldn’t take 30 minutes to explain your delivery person THREW MY PACKAGE OVER MY 8 FOOT FENCE FEDEX I FUCKING SAW THEM DO IT. THE PACKAGE SAID FRAGILE ON IT YOU STUPID CUNTS WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND I HAVE SECURITY FOOTAGE

I kinda blacked out because I absolutely loathe being unkind to customer-facing workers but dear Christ this was a $300 object and I could hear the smugness as the guy played up his Indian accent (suddenly much more understandable after I snapped) while saying “I’m sorry sir I don’t see what the problem is they delivered your package???”

Fuck that guy, he deserves nasty customers every call

  • No they’re fucking not

    Nice source. Yes, they are.

Survivorship bias, and you just noted you don’t wear them

Holy shit dude, anymore. They survived 6 years of wearing. I’ve been using glasses off the internet for over 10 years as have 3 other people I know, it’s not survivorship bias if over 10 pairs of glasses haven’t had any of these issues you mention.

This point is attempting to imply there is no difference in products, which there absolutely is.

You’re right, the brand name glasses I used to wear have never lasted as long as my Zennis

I’m glad you watched a video once

Or I’ve ordered them and wear them regularly. Nice assumption though.

    but this is my profession

So you’re incentivized to keep the bullshit going? Well, I should definitely trust you!

and I know better than you.

Clearly not, as you said a bunch of shit would happen with these glasses that, again, I’ve never seen despite my and my wife both having our entire family order glasses online for the last 8-12 years (mine 12, hers 8ish). Oh, and friends as well for about the same amount of time.

  • the frame won’t be adjusted and have no standards of material and shitty spring hinges

They’re the same frames sold in physical stores, though

the transitions will be an old off brand composited lens that will delaminate after some time the antireflective will be the cheapest, smudging crap possible, and the lenses will be thicker and heavier.

My old glasses that I don’t even wear anymore are 7 years old and never had issues and still aren’t delaminated at all, never had issues with smudging or glare

Go to a local optical, not any chain you’ve ever heard of. No corporate execs to pay means actual paid professionals helping you see better, as opposed to collision salesman trying to rip you off.

And yet you still spend way more than you would at somewhere like Zenni. So you’re getting ripped off for someone lower down the ladders benefit… Yay?

Online glasses are for single vision rx’s for children, not anybody who really needs glasses.

Complete bullshit. Not surprised that someone “with their own line of frames” would encourage people to go the pricier route, though.
