Screen sharing is a big social thing for my friends and I, lacking this functionality would mean I wouldn’t be able to interact as much sharing goofy game moments and watching movies together.

I tried Vencord for a while, but my friends said that the quality of the stream on their end was consistently stuttering, an issue which isn’t happening for me in the official client, so the release of screen sharing on Discord stable after working so well on canary is a welcome update for me.

This issue is only from the last couple of days, until then the new streaming has been working great.

It was working great, but version 0.554 of discord canary has completely broken streaming for me as well, with discord completely crashing on trying to start a stream.

Linus is such an insufferable tool. Let him stay on Windows.

I think his point is more that a link to the Massgrave site with explanation is better than a random copy and paste of the activation script PowerShell command without any context.

Same experience as me, worked it out eventually but not as intuitive as it should be.

Pretty much! Never saw anything that said the browser client worked on Linux, but last time I tried the discord browser client it was pretty rubbish as well.

Just installed Canary on my system to test this, and while it’s a little janky and the hardware acceleration seems to stop other apps using the GPU at the same time this is still good enough I think I can finally move to Linux as my main OS. I assume this will get polished further in the future. Great stuff though.

Offer developers money or perks to launch their apps on the Play Store exclusively or first

Offer developers money or perks not to launch their apps on rival stores

I don’t think there’s magic one size fits all answer to this, it really sucks you have to deal with it. Avoid destructive behaviours like drinking until you pass out etc, they won’t help in the long term. Do you have any friends IRL you can call on?

I work in an office in a professional setting, but when I see fuckwits on the road my base instinct reverts to full bogan to berate them.

My favourite is seeing the dashcam drivers who are clearly immigrants or tourists in DCA videos react the same way. It’s a beautiful cultural melting pot hearing some Asian dude asking some deadshit on the road “the fuck you doing, mate?”
