3·5 months agoThat’s not a very specific definition, innit? I looked these folks up, and didn’t exactly spot any obvious similarities among them, though maybe that’s just me. I mean, are people gonna see me and be maybe slightly reminded of Jason Momoa but in a dollar store knockoff version, or am I gonna maybe sorta make people unconsciouly be thinking “hmmm… they remind me of someone. I just can’t pinpoint who exactly”, unaware that they’re in fact thinking of Gal Gadot? Cause those are different paths. I mean, what does that even imply? Slightly bigger, a wee bit more muscular, 5 ³⁄₇ pack? Or do I thin out ever so slightly, with a milimiter larger butt or something? So many ways one could change, appearance-wise
What is the definition of ‘beautiful’, here? Do I get to decide, or is it up to the genie’s interpretation?

What about Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s SoLiD (social linked data)? I mean, I guess it only (or mainly) pertains to data, and doesn’t necessarily change the web itself
Well, they could expand tags beyond simply NSFW. A clear example would be “nudity” vs something like “violence”, but could be more specific like “nudity” vs “sexual” or “pornographic”

1·11 months agoCan someone more knowledgeable explain to me this? Why do certain security software require access to the kernel? To keep malware from getting to the kernel or something? Doesn’t restricting access to the kernel offer more security? Wouldn’t malware also be unable to access the kernel? Or is that not the case? (Kernel is what connects software and hardware, correct? Just to be sure)

I’ve tried COSMIC DE Beta on Pop!_OS on an older laptop I have around, and the feature I’m looking forward to most, that I’ve seen and experienced from my mininal usage of it, is the ability to easily change colours from settings. Not just accent colours, but window colours, text colours, etc. From what I recall, I could, for instance, recreate Hot Dog Stand, the Windows 3.1 colour theme, right from the system settings app, no third party downloads
