Way too much emphasis on making it look like a calendar app. It should just be a list at that point.

Not bad, not great. I buy my veggies from a grocery that specializes in that, it’s much cheaper and less plastic. No yogurt? No solid/brick cheese? No nuts and dried fruit? No canned beans or dried beans? Peanut butter?
What you really need is a $/portion table to see what’s actually expensive here.
I think the muffins tip you over the edge into junk food land. They are very empty and basically the same as the rolls, the kraft dinner, and whatever is in the red box. A fair bit of this stuff is basically sugar and bread.
I like building things and being alone and woodworking is my go to activity. It involves working with and learning about wood and tools to work with wood, project management for more complex projects, tons of spatial thinking, drawing, research, prototyping. I spend a large amount of time drawing.
When I see stuff like this I just never go back there again. I don’t give a shit what celebrities do or say. Make good movie. Be good actor.
I’m a boomerang. Reddit has the content, but it’s largely focused on the larger subs which are the ones I want to avoid. I’ll have to decide whether or not I want to run into obvious tankies (mayo) or try to spot misinformation campaigns (reddit).
And reddit is getting worse in every way. Reddit wants to turn into an ad platform and that’s the way things are going. Lot’s more locked comments and posts, totally unchecked misinformation and dooming.
On iOS through firefox the google login prompt can’t be closed. This is what prompted me back, I started using Voyager again.
I might come back and search for another home server, create a new account and delete my old one. Start fresh.
Very cool thanks for sharing. I need to discover more projects like these.

Being able to spend money. I don’t know what will happen with farming and other things but the premise is the same as any other form of currency. Provide value, get rewarded, buy stuff.
I don’t think they will be owning anything that’s why I mentioned it feels like a serfdom.
There is still strong anti-crypto sentiment in social media so I’m not surprised to get this type of reply but it does seem charged or emotional rather than curious. Is there something about blockchain or digital currency that makes you angry or irritated?
Interesting idea but it’s still too close to the reddit platform. Looks a lot like reddit gold, except you can take your ‘gold’ elsewhere. This is a cool idea, despite the knee jerk reactions in this thread.
It’s a partial step towards a DAO, but looks rushed, half baked, and done for the wrong reasons. Some reddit profits will trickle into this currency. If they wanted to provide actual benefits instead of just making themselves rich they’d distribute profits to CP holders and allow CP holders some governance roles site-wide instead of being boxed into a community. Serfdom vibes.
I feel like I’m turning into ‘that guy’ again but cryptocurrency could help this out.
a) connect wallet to lifehacker
b) have fractions of a cent taken out to unlock articles
I know people can bypass it/copy paste, but at the end of the day it would be another source of revenue. They are surviving as is, but barely.
Been like this for a while. I have an account with a shitty password and it’s not a big deal for me to stay logged in. But it’s scummy. I know they’re collecting that data. Can’t even fap in private anymore.
I can’t quite figure out the purpose of the votes here and I think I just prefer to comment instead of giving an up/down.
I think the up/down thing also promotes shorter comments, at least it did for me, since I know it can be hard to totally agree with someone who is making several points so I tried to keep it short and to the point. Which is dumb, because difficult topics are complex and deserve more words thrown at them not less.
Maybe the utility of the votes for me is when I don’t know what I want to say in a reply, but I want to express something. Then I vote.

I don’t think fashion advice needs to be googleable?
I could post a picture of me wearing a shirt and ask people what their opinion is and then everyone moves. Doesn’t need to be archived on the net
They went to substack for their wiki/guides content and discord for everything else. Different. Maybe it’ll fit their social model better than a forum kind of place. I prefer my local mechanical keyboard discord over the much bigger subreddit.
Good to see that r/accidentalRenaissance is moving to kbin/lemmy. Also seems like a good fit for them here.
Scotch Super33+ Hmm I think I’ve seen that packaging before. I’ll have a look for it next time I go to the store.
I also use sticky notes like @RedHandsome@kbin.social. I’ve tried electrical tape but I don’t like how it goes gunky after a while.
I have a lutron maestro light switch that has LED lights, but I like it. I can see it when I walk to the bathroom at night or when I walk into the apartment and it’s dark. I also like the LEDs in my keyboard. But that’s it. I have my monitor lights covered, and the USB charger, router, and power bar lights might end up with similar treatments soon.
I’m a hobbyist and I went there to get something nice and save myself some time making it. I expected high quality reasonable cost and I found average/low quality high cost. Disappointed.
