Chaotic neutral should be a solo laptop screen.
Chaotic neutral should be a solo laptop screen.
Both of you are assholes.
Nothing warrants destroying things over a perceived misgendering.
At the same time, a bit of an asshole response from you, when you could have just politely said that you meant dude as gender neutral term
Unpopular opinion, but Tesla model 3 has been the best car with the lowest total cost of ownership.
Electricity is cheaper than gas by a lot, no moving parts or fluids to replace except washer fluid, brakes last forever since it’s Regen braking.
It’s also pretty fun to drive.
Not a fan of the dude, and never bought into the hype on the tech side, but it’s a solid car.
“Boring and Safe” when the man has a button to literally annihilate the world 10 times over and can literally lead the world into WW3/massive trade wars/destroy countries over night seems petty logical.
No, because I need too much information for work. This would render me unable to perform my work, so I would need at least the replacement salary.
Rampant alcoholism.
We absolutely need to codify adoption rights as federal law.
Who is our Jordan Peterson equivalent?
Reporters and intellectuals can be role models but they are more passive than actively preaching what masculinity should mean.
The left needs to own healthy masculinity and properly address very legitimate issues that disproportionally hurt boys in our society.
Otherwise we will lose a whole generation to toxic male role models in the manosphere.
Exactly this, very much a cut the noise to spite the face situation.
I can respect that.
And the left wing politicians during the French Revolution never prosecuted minorities in the name of the republic?
Damn, what happened to the entire Occitaian culture?
Oh wait, it was deemed an enemy of progress.
If you want to use that definition of left right from the French Revolution, fine, are they not “left” when they literally sat on the left side of the National Assembly?
So was the USSR not a leftist government?
I feel like we’re going into the semantics of who is a “true” leftist.
Then it’s just a “no true Scotsman” argument.
There are plenty of examples of leftist governments who were openly hostile to minorities.
Just want to clarify, nowhere did I equate the two. I’m simply saying I personally wouldn’t tolerate intolerance regardless of the political ideology. The previous poster suggested that they didn’t see such type behaviors from far-left folks, I had a different experience.
I totally agree far-right ideologies are inherently intolerant.
Eh… I have met enough far-left authoritarians who are openly racist, anti-lgbtq, and who advocated for violence against people solely based on their family background that I don’t think the extreme right has a monopoly on hate.
I don’t think that level of intolerance should be tolerated, regardless of whether someone is on the right or left of the spectrum.
It’s going to be pretty significant. I’m sure the vacuum will be filled by American and international news, but that’s terrible for democracy.
^^ This.
it’s hard to have a factual conversation about this. Mediocre ANYONE isn’t getting anywhere near those schools. You have to be at least the top 5% to even be in the conversation in the first place. In fact, due to the concentration of wealth and education in certain class and geographical locations, it’s even harder for the “average” student to be close to the same level as the “exceptional” student.
Now back to affirmative action, all the elite schools still are still heavily gated through non-academic evaluation criteria. Legacy, athletics, and extracurriculars disproportionally benefit upper-class white folks. Even the supreme court decision doesn’t explicitly ban the evaluation of racial impact through personal statements. It remains to be seen how that will impact the racial composition at top schools.
the US is a fractal scam. At every level, everything is an attempt to extract money from ill-informed “suckers”, from the running of the government, to the prices of supermarket groceries, to the tipping culture at restaurants, to even finding a place to put your car [1]. Every single thing is someone’s grift. In order to function in America, you need to be willing to be suckered to some extent. There’s no way around it. Unfairness is baked into every transaction, and increasingly more social interactions.
What a quote. I will add that “we” also like to believe we have the most fair system. And in many ways, the “gotchas” are much more hidden and systemic than other countries. For example, you might be scammed haggling with someone in Southeast Asia, but we get scammed everyday by credit card companies making bank on every single transactions.
She really destroyed her legacy by refusing to retire.
