I was generous during covid to those actually working, 30% usually. Now nobody does a damn thing but have their hand out… Companies need to step us, not us.

That being said I’m not physically unable or too lazy to go to the grocery store.

I’ve actually spent about $2500+ on switch and games, haven’t pirated a single game, I just play the old nes and snes roms via emulation.

I can say, due to Nintendo’s behavior I will never buy another nintendo console or game. I might even start with this Suyu emulator now and moving forward.

No company should ever attack its community this much, and aggressively. They are making piles of cash, and this is just toxic.

Atleast Lemmy is trending the right way. Reddit has been slipping hard, but Lemmy has actually been feeling better with good discussions. Alot of empty posts are starting to actually have real discussions and people engage.

I also noticed on my last month’s of reddit how bad the bots were getting. Russian propoganda bots ran rampant across the platform.

At the end of the day porn will build lemmy, just like reddit and the internet itself.

Ohhh America, what happened to you…

I have been banned pre-emptively from subreddits for making comments in other subreddits. The the sad part was my involvement in those toxic community’s was to get them to see the other side in a reasonable way. If anyone had actually read the comment there would not have been a ban. I even appealed the ban and they told me I shouldn’t even be there and it doesn’t matter. Talk about being close minded and toxic!

(It was left wing subreddits banning me for arguing with right wingers in their own spaces, but I did in a soft way that didn’t get me outright banned - it showed me that the left wing extreme groups are just as bad as the right - extremism needs to end full stop)

The fact that behavior was allowed on reddit should have been a red flag a long time ago.

It wasn’t until I started having conversations on reddit in something I was an actual expert in they I realised most people on reddit have very strong opinions but not much actually knowledge on the subject.

Hopefully less bots and fluff here and more quality content. All I know is after 10+ years on reddit its the end of an era. It was slow when reddit started, and I expect things to be a bit slower here for a bit.
