  • Starting a conversation with Statistics has long been a sign being too lazy to make a mechanism to include in the Hypothesis. It has extended to, giving the stats and making the theory without caring about adding a mechanism to the hypothesis.
That is what leads to “stats is evil”.

Because, on top of the number of lines, it will also matter what kind of code is there in the line.
One can easily fill a 100 lines of code, hardcoding a lookup table with minimal logic in it. At the same time, a few lines of changed code might make a big difference. Then, if multiple significant changes are done to a single feature, they all might be given in a single commit, making the number of commits very low, while having the changes spread across several different features, might require separate commits, increasing the count.

I’ll take these stats as a fun little number, usable to make some good looking graphs, but that’s all.

  • I came back to playing a few weeks ago and absolutely stopped working on the 3rd party tool for X4 that I was making.

Now, to get back to making programs, I am going to completely stop playing for a while. Because when I start dong something, I feel like doing another thing and then another and it goes on and the day is over.

I also tend to be stuck thinking sometimes, whether to make the program I want, to put on my CV or to complete my resume website and spend a few minutes of staring at the screen, until I just go make some food.

  • LMDE

Oops! I thought it was some obscure DE.

Considering your points, it seems to be most probably some configuration issue.
Might even be that some of the automated monitor/display configuration tools (might be some GUI settings thing) wonked out and reconfigured something.

If your system has some shortcut combination for selecting external monitor/connected projector/mirror screen, perhaps you can try that.

Also, since you mentioned xrandr, I would assume X Session. You can also use xrandr to check and set the monitor configuration. Not just whether it is connected, but also location (left/right/up/down) and screen resolution of each display separately. Perhaps trying those could tell you what is happening.

  • Pretty simple actually.
Just make sure you don’t have any resource worth anything in the international market.

    1. Let stuff like petroleum, Lithium, Uranium and other such thingies be sold to the first bidder.
    2. Have your soil be nuclear contaminated, down to the bedrock, so nobody wants your land.
    • Also, import all nuclear waste from other countries
    1. Have a population that looks as ugly as possible, so noone will want to rape your people.
    • Should be easier considering point 2
    • Something like leprosy in the genitals would help too.
    1. Be absolutely full of population, such that the place is a cesspool.

Hey, I said it’d be simple, not that it would be easy or even humanly possible.
