Apparently it is a popular American myth.
Apparently it is a popular American myth.
Your reading comprehension leaves something to be desired. We are in agreement, you are just a moron who can’t read.
Also I am not lying, I am stating facts.
That is why it is technically a republic, but not in practice. The constitution says it is a republic, and they actually have an election for the role of head of state, well “election”, but of course in practice that is not how it works at all.
The US is also technically a representative democracy, but in practice, well…
No, republic just means that the role of head of state isn’t hereditary. Lots of dictatorships are republics, some democracies are as well. The actual political system of the USA is representative democracy (in theory at least).
The fact that these terms are so muddled in the minds of the average American is completely deliberate, because it makes it so much easier for them to subvert US democracy when people have been told that the US is not one.
It seems like you are mainly criticising fans (perhaps imaginary fans) rather than the show itself. I do agree that the later seasons are just not as good as the first ones, and personally I have little interest in the newest season, it never should have been revived in my opinion, it is just going to end up like the Simpsons.
I will gladly rewatch old episodes though, and no, not because I think it predicts anything, but because it is damn funny.
such as with its views on theology and politics which are trademark 90’s views.
You are getting me curious. Could you give some examples of what trademark 90’s views on theology and politics are?
Exactly my impression as well.
Lots of cringeworthy American exceptionalism and nationalism in that thread. I especially like this one:
It doesn’t, all of these countries have different definitions on what “Rights” are, most of their constitutions don’t even define a right in the context of a divine power as the United States does, most countries actually believe its the government’s job to assign what rights its people are allowed.
It takes an impressive amount of baseless self confidence to speak with such certainty, yet with such ignorance, not only about other countries but your own country as well.
Looks more like a type of ciabatta.
Nothing wrong with them, but a lot of “alternative medicine” special interest groups wants you to believe there is, as evidenced by a lot of the links uncritically posted in this very thread alone.
In most of the world rapeseed oil is considered a neutral vegetable oil, and is definitely not strong flavoured. I don’t know what you do to it in Australia, but it isn’t being done most other places.
Their posting history reveals them to be a racist troll.
You are talking purely out of ignorance. The majority of the population on Earth are getting on just fine using celsius with none of the problems you claim to exist.
Also “really cold” and “really hot” are purely subjective terms which varies a lot from person to person and from location to location.
What a bizarre claim.
That depends. For example in a lot of Europe there aren’t any air conditioners in houses, so it only controls heating.
No AC here, only heating. So it is off during summer.
The line is that you don’t criticise tankies/hexbear on lemmy.ml. They don’t take kindly to that sort of thing.
Also Europe here, using ublock and firefox, and I don’t get that popup.
And a lot of users who just doesn’t care enough to do anything drastic about it. We already saw it with reddit, and twitter to a point. The userbase on the internet is so huge now that the people actually being aware and caring about privacy and non-commercialisation are a tiny minority. Companies can easily still make a profit on the vast majority of people who will uncritically consume.
That is only because the cats sense that you don’t like them. If you actually liked them they behave pretty much as you experience dogs does to you.
